SonarBridge — Privacy Policy

SonarBridge is an Android app that connects to a Vexilar SonarPhone SP200A fish finder over its own Wi-Fi, displays the sonar data, and relays depth and water temperature to marine chart apps as standard NMEA 0183 sentences on your device.

Data we collect

None. SonarBridge does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal or usage data. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

How your data is used

• Sonar data (depth, water temperature, battery voltage, echo returns) is received from your SonarPhone device and shown on screen. It is processed entirely on your device.
• NMEA output is served only to the loopback address (127.0.0.1) on your own device, for a marine chart app you choose to pair with it. It never leaves your phone.
• Optional raw logging, if you enable it, writes sonar frames to your app-private storage. These files stay on your device unless you share them yourself.

Permissions

• Wi-Fi / network — to connect to the SonarPhone's local Wi-Fi network and stream its data. The connection is local-only and does not route your other internet traffic.
• Foreground service & notifications — to keep the sonar connection alive while you're on the water and show its status.

Third parties

SonarBridge contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not send your data to us or anyone else.

Children

SonarBridge is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children.
